Whey Protein vs. Plant Based Protein
When I tell people that I use a vegan protein made with pea protein, brown rice protein and cranberry protein, they always ask either one of two things: “So, are you vegan then?” or “Why not use whey protein?”. No, I am not vegan I just use plant based protein, and I don’t use whey for many reasons. Here is a breakdown of whey vs. plant based protein:
Whey protein is a processed, packaged product. It’s a byproduct of the dairy industry, removed after being processed. If it’s processed with heat, the proteins can be denatured (not good).
